Services

The Halpern Group’s Recovery Management practice seeks to strike a balance between desires and needs so that we do not sacrifice the plaintiff’s future. With over 25 years of experience, we understand the challenges negligently-injured people face as a result of a profound injury or loss, and we are dedicated to helping overcome them. From paperwork submission to daily client service, each and every client is provided with the attention and care they deserve.

Prior to Settlement

Prior to settlement, The Halpern Group will:

  • Attend mediations and settlement conferences in order to assist plaintiff’s counsel.
  • Interpret and transform plaintiff's future needs and desires into a functional program.
  • Secure the services of one of the nation's leading banks as Trustee/Administrator at a discounted rate.
  • Develop appropriate documentation that accommodates as many of the plaintiff's future needs and desires as possible without exposing the plaintiff to significant marketplace risk or the risk of unwise dissipation.

After a Trust is Established

After the trust is established, each client receives customized, personalized service and The Halpern Group will:

  • Continue to protect the plaintiff against unwisely dissipating their recovery and/or against the full volatility of the global financial markets.
  • As required, provide ongoing monitoring of the program and how well it is achieving the plaintiff's objectives.
  • As required, provide ongoing consulting services concerning specialized financial issues (at no additional charge).
  • Customize products that have the ability to account for the future unpredictable nature of life and help the plaintiff make appropriate changes in the program (to the extent permitted by law).
  • Consult with and educate all of the Trustees on how to best serve the plaintiff’s needs and best solve the plaintiff's problems.
  • Innovate ways to facilitate special needs or requests of the plaintiff that are in the plaintiff's best interest.
  • As required, continually act as liaison between the plaintiff and the Trustees so that potential problems are averted and/or solved satisfactorily and expeditiously.

Ongoing

Additional services provided by The Halpern Group and its Trustees, usually at no additional cost from The Halpern Group, include:

  • Help in obtaining life and medical insurance (at no commission to us).
  • Advice about support groups that may be of help to the plaintiff and their family.
  • Help in obtaining home aides or vendors to help modify their home.
